Rihanna’s crew was living it up when Detroit police pulled her tour bus over Wednesday. Rihanna’s line of 10 tour buses were stopped and searched at a border entering into Detroit. Authorities made the stop after catching a whiff of a illegal substance coming from one of the vehicles.
Police called on the help of their drug sniffing K-9 who managed to sniff out a “small amount” of marijuana. The drug was found in the possession of one of the male passengers. The suspect was given a citation for civil infraction.
A spokesman for the United States Customs and Border Protection released a statement saying, “One of our border protection officers referred the caravan for inspection due to a strong odor of marijuana,” Kris Grogan said, “The canine did alert on quite a few of the buses, but it was only that small amount found.”
The spokesperson confirmed that the R&B singer was not present on any of the buses as they crossed into Michigan from Canada around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Due to the hefty number of buses in the Diamonds World Tour caravan, the search took “quite a while” according to Grogan. Rihanna was hard at work putting on shows in Toronto Monday and Tuesday while her tour crew was getting in trouble with the law.
It is expected that RiRi’s friends are as fond of the drug as she has admitted to being in the past. Her hit single “Diamonds” artwork features the singer casually rolling a j**nt. She even goes so far as to smoke the cannabis in the single’s video.
With all the talk of her possibly having to give up her singing career due to a recent diagnosis of laryngitis, this may not be the best activity for Rihanna to engage in when it comes to caring for those vocals of hers.
