The 22-year-old is said to have worked with the company for four years. However, according to the release, Wah Wa has had it with manager Raymond 'Shadow' Small, and is now ready to handle the affairs of his career personally. The former Calabar High student is said to have left due to a breakdown in communication between himself and Small. It is also alleged that the two failed to reach an agreement for a new deal, which would see Small earning less than he previously earned. "I am no longer a part of Darkcide International. They will no longer take care of my affairs as it relates to bookings, public relations and management. I am treading new pastures," said the radio disc jock, who was christened Deon-Ville O'Hara. Despite this, whatever projects that the two were working on prior to the fallout will still be completed under the Darckcide International brand. The latest project, which is expected to be released soon, is the Mad Panorama rhythm, which features Konshens, Flippa Mogela, RDX, Navino, Ryno, Ninja Kid and Lincoln. "Anything we had produced will remain the same percentage wise," he said. When contacted Small acknowledged the split with the DJ. "He is not part of Darkcide International anymore. We wish him all the best," he said. In the meantime, according to the release Wah Wa, who is the promoter of Guinness Hamma Fridaze, will take care of his bookings along with Stacy Cowen, while his public relations will be handled by Roxroy McLean. ![]() Recording artiste and performer Flippa Mafia has decided to drop the 'Mafia' from his name. The artiste will now be known as Flippa Moggela. Born Andrew Davis, the artiste said he got his moniker while attending high school, but now is ready for a change and doesn't believe that it will affect his fan base. Flippa said the name change was imminent because he has evolved as an artiste and he's known across the dancehall idiom as the 'flossing king'. "I don't think that the change will make a big difference with my fan base because I have always been saying 'moggela' from I did the song Dem Ya. Moggela more fits with the image." Flippa Moggela further added that so far the name has been met with positive reception, especially from the females. "Well the girls them like the name and so far people have been receptive to the change", the release read. Flippa's current single Talk Bout We on the Mad Panamera rhythm from Darkcide International has been getting a lot of attention especially on radio. The song is a joint production effort from Darkcide's Raymond 'Shadow' Small and radio jock ZJ Wah Wa. The Mad Panamera rhythm is the third musical project from the Darkcide International label. Navino and RDX are among the other artistes featured on the project. As for Flippa, he is getting ready to release projects from his Flip Money Records imprint as well as projects from the Flip Money Squad stable of acts. The artiste has a busy schedule this weekend hosting Memorial Day parties and events across the United States. He is also billed for a show featuring Capleton in Philadelphia next month. |
